For a long time, I thought the answer to scarcity was abundance.
If I felt like I didn’t have enough—enough money, enough success, enough time—I just needed to “believe” there was more. More opportunities, more wealth, more possibilities. More waiting for me, if only I could convince myself to see it.
But the more I tried to shift from scarcity to abundance, the more I realized—I was still playing by someone else’s rules.
Scarcity says there’s not enough to go around.
Abundance says there’s plenty for everyone.
And yet, both are constructs. Neither of them are things we would have come to on our own. They were given to us—wrapped in capitalism, shaped by competition, reinforced by systems that tell us to either fear lack or chase more.
What if neither of these beliefs are the answer?
What if, instead of getting out of one and into the other, we just rooted deeper into who we actually are?
The Reframe That Changed Everything for Me
Instead of trying to “fix” scarcity or force abundance, I started asking myself:
What if I just focused on being so deeply full of my own life that nothing outside of me could shake it?
Not full of things. Not full of achievements.
But full of:
What I love about myself (even when no one else is watching).
The path I’m on (even if I don’t know exactly where it leads).
What inspires and moves me (even when no one else understands).
I stopped making the goal more of anything. I stopped trying to “manifest” abundance or “overcome” scarcity.
And something strange happened: the noise got quieter.
The fear of not having enough. The pull to compare. The anxiety over whether I was falling behind.
Because when you’re already full—not with external success, but with an inner knowing that you are exactly where you’re supposed to be—the outside world loses its grip.
Scarcity Always Comes from Outside of Us First
If you find yourself drowning in scarcity—feeling like you’re lacking, falling behind, running out of time—the first question to ask isn’t, “How do I shift into abundance?”
It’s: “How much am I consuming right now?”
Because scarcity doesn’t start inside of us.
It starts out there.
Scrolling past everyone else’s highlight reel.
Seeing someone else get the thing you wanted.
Absorbing a million messages a day about what you should have by now.
And suddenly, your life—your actual, beautiful, real life—starts feeling less than.
Not because it is, but because you’ve absorbed someone else’s measuring stick.
Which means the simplest, most radical thing you can do? Step away.
Unplug. Reconnect. Get quiet enough to hear your own thoughts before the world tells you what to think.
And then ask: “Who do I want to be, with or without more?”
Because the moment you stop outsourcing your sense of “enoughness” to the outside world, the whole game changes.
If You Need This Reminder Today:
You don’t need more to be whole.
You don’t need proof to trust your path.
You don’t need to “believe in abundance” to be deeply, fully content.
You just need to root into yourself so completely that the rest of it starts to feel small.
Because at the end of the day? You were never missing anything to begin with.
