Hmm. What if - not me, but many - shit rains down on you and you are already knee deep in a sewer? Is this their purpose? Don't get me wrong, I like what you wrote, and you do it beautifully, but isn't it a bit like that cringe Christian saying god doesn't give you more than you can handle ? I admit I may have missed stuff because as I read at thought of two ideas, first, maybe you could do a road trip across America (,,into Canada) stopping by at substackers from our corner... and the second was the concept of enough. Not only maybe we need to learn we are enough, already. But not only that but what is enough to live on ? I don't like this concept of manifesting abundance (another person's post) because a) there is not an infinite amount of abundance, that is the great lie of western capitalism. There are finite resources on this tiny blue planet. More people. I assume ther should be a b but I rambled out of thought... keep being you. Cait is great.

One of the best books I've ever read that I think would meet many of the things you address here is Viktor Frankl's Man's Search for Meaning. It's not a very long read, but a wildly impactful one on the power of perspective, even in the most horrific of realities. I hear what you're saying about hollow sentiments, and I hope to encourage you with words that help me: your life is not your reality but your relationship to your reality, and what you make how you move through it mean about you or what's possible out there on this tiny blue planet.

Also, in my opinion (kindly), we need to be vigilant on the line we walk between where "realistic" or pragmatic begins and where jaded, cynical, or just extra tired (which I think can often feel the same) begins. Hugging you!
